Amber – the restorer of emotional balance

Born and raised in a small Indiana town, Amber sought out any opportunity to experience art, culture and travel from the earliest of age. Whether it was spending endless hours reading classic literature or studying the glamorous imagery in early black & white cinema, she would imagine transporting herself to interesting places she had seen and read about.

Years later she studied Interior Design in Chicago and found herself walking amongst the great architectural works of Daniel Burnham, Mies Van der Rohe, and Frank Gehry and felt her journey was finally moving in the right direction. Amber also spent endless hours utilizing her student discount at the Art Institute of Chicago visiting her favorite “friends”: Picasso’s The Old Guitarist, Seurat’s Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and several of Monet’s Haystacks and Water Lilies.

When the iconic furniture company, Knoll, offered Amber a job in early 2005 she jumped at the chance to experience NYC, the city that most excited her for being on the bleeding edge of culture. Working as the Architecture & Design manager, Amber was thrilled to contribute to projects that utilized some of the greatest pieces of furniture design that had ever been produced. She also utilized this time to work on freelance interior design projects and produce corporate and private events. She was able to draw inspiration from her extraordinary surroundings in New York but also her travels abroad to Europe, the Caribbean, and Far East.

Amber now channels her artistic vision through her residential real estate clients in Tribeca, FiDi, and Battery Park City. Her clients are drawn to her ability to see a blank space and envision what it can be with the utilization space planning, the right furniture, and the perfect art. She especially thrives in helping new families transition into their changing apartment needs, all while maintaining style.

In many ways her approach to art and living could not be closer to the gemstone that also bears her name. "Amber" is said to promote emotional balance, remove negativity and promote the circulation of energy in a healthy flow. At some level don't we all seek this for our own living environment?

In October of 2013, Amber was blessed enough to accept the role of mother to her beautiful son, Dashiell. They live along with her husband in Lower Manhattan. What Amber most looks forward to is being able to share the best of what our cultural world has to offer with her son…not only from the pages of a book or through the tv screen…but through the short walk to a local museum, park, or theatre.
